Christmas Box in a Bag

This should be my last post on something to do with Christmas. LOL! I had these made up earlier and just never got around to posting them. Plus, I just handed them out today to my friends at work. Due to the snow, I haven't been back into the office until now. Anyway I finally got a chance to make this box in a bag. I have seen them on so many sites and got the tutorial from one of my favorite blogs, Dannie's Designs. These were super easy and super quick to make, and your friends will be super impressed. :o) Here's the tutorial I used from Dannie's blog.

All SU! Supplies used:

Holiday Treasures DSP, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive & Choc Chip Cardstock, Felt Flurries, Rhinestone Brads, Build a Brad, Scallop Edge punch, Round Tab punch, Satin Ribbon & Taffeta Ribbon

White Christmas

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had our first White Christmas in a long, long, long time. It's very beautiful, but just a big pain around here since we rarely have this much snow like I mentioned before. My husband ended up being the chauffeur having to pick up his parents, sister and her husband due to the road conditions. And he also had to dig my sisters car out a few times as well, but we were all able to make it together and that's what counts. Here's just a few pictures of our snowy week.
Christmas morning looking out from the porch.

Backyard picture

My son, Dylan and his friend Aaron(holding the icicle) found this large icicle hanging at a neighbors house. That's my other son's hand in the picture :o)

My son, Tanner, and nephew, Zach tackling each other in the snow.

Snow & Twilight

Well, here's just a little of what Seattle has been hit with these past few days. I'm sure some of you are use to weather like this, but we just don't get snow like this, it's been crazy! Yes, we gets lots in the mountains but not down here. These are pictures from the other day but we probably got about a foot of snow altogether. This has not helped with my Christmas shopping I still need to do :o). I'm such a chicken when it comes to driving in the snow, plus it's been in the 20's so everthing is icey too. We just don't get something like this but maybe every 10 - 15 years. When we do get snow it's here for a day and gone by the next. But, this year we may just have a White Christmas...we'll see. I have more pictures I'll try and post later. It really is beautiful, but I'm done with it!

Atleast with being stuck at home I finally finished the Twilight series...YAY! Now I really want to go back and see the movie again and can't wait for the next movie to be released in another year or so. I have a friend that lives in Forks and she and the locals just find it hilarious with all the tourists passing through. I guess people are coming from all over just to see the high school and Bella's house. It's such a dinky town there's really not much to see or do, but it's been hopping lately :o). I've actually been through that town years ago on a camping trip we took. It is beautiful country.

Well, that's all for now. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have something to post on stamping.

Snow Banner

This was my first attempt at making a banner using the Big Shot. Sorry my picture really doesn't show it off well, but I thought it turned out pretty cute. Using the Big Shot made this project super easy to make. It's been with me to several stamp camps and events for the last month so it's got a little beat up along the way. Now I can finally hang it up in my stamp room and enjoy it for a bit. I tried to take a close up picture below, but anyway I had lots of fun making this one and will definitely be making more for other occasions.

Here's the supplies I used, all from Stampin'UP!

Paper: Old Olive, Shimmery White, Frosty Day DSP

Other: Big Shot, Pennant Bigz XL Die, Snowflake #2 Die, Scallop Circle Die, Serif Essentials Die, Brads from Pretties Kit, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (C. Chip and Brocade Blue), Kiwi Kiss/V. Vanilla Satin Ribbon and Dimensionals

Thanks for looking!

Twilight and Noel

I'm finally back to my blog. Geesh, the time just flew by and I'm in no way ready for Christmas. I have several projects I need to finish for gifts and still need to make my cards too! Ugh! Oh well, we always seem to find the time to finish everything and pull our hair out at the same time, LOL! But, I do have a confession I've been totally wrapped up in the Twilight series. OMG! I picked up the first book in the airport on my way to Idaho wondering what all the hype was about the movie, well I totally got hooked! I haven't been able to resist reading atleast a little of it every day. I just finished the 3rd book last night and picked up the 4th one on my way home from work today. So, I'll be hitting the book again tonight, LOL! I did see the movie after I finished the 1st book and thought it was cute, totally in love with Edward Cullen, hee hee! My two teenage boys just roll their eyes and laugh at me whenever they see me engulfed in my book. Oh well...are any of you as hooked as I am? LOL!

I managed to make it to our Group Stamp Holiday Party last week and here's a picture of a project we did. Isn't it just cute....and a quick and easy project too. Makes a perfect little gift. The square frames were from Ikea and then we used the Big Shot and alphabet die for the letters, Holiday Treasures DSP and an assorment of SU! ribbons.

More Christmas

Pick up these glass ornaments at your local craft store and decorate them using your Big Shot. I used the vinyl with the Join in the Cheer Decorative Strip Die and added a few gel white ink dots. Added scraps of paper inside the ornament and tied a ribbon.

Again, I just love this set. This is just a simple little card using the Top Note Die and folding it in half.

Okay, I had to show you pictures of my babies. I've never had cats until about a year and a half ago. My friend found a breeder with Ragdolls and Himalayans. She ended up getting a Ragdoll which I fell in love with and had to have one for myself. The cat in the top picture is a Himadoll (Himi/Ragdoll mix) her name is Carmela (named after one of my favorite HBO programs, The Sopranos :o) and on the bottom is Charile, don't you just love that stache! He's a Sealpoint w/white Himalayan and is such a little lover. Anyway just had to share, we also have 2 black labs, a bunny and a reef tank... guess you could say we love
pets.
Here's the website of the cat breeder, she has some cute kitten photos out there and more kittens are due in the next couple weeks.

More Big Shot Projects

Just a few more Big Shot ideas. I love using the big snowflake die and here I used it on a lunch bag and created a simple luminary. I added the felt snowflakes in the center to hold the loose pieces in the middle together and just give it a little more flare. The candle in the bag is a battery operated one, I haven't tried a votive or tealight yet. But, this makes a perfect holiday decoration for a table or on your front porch.
Supplies Used:
SU! Big Shot, Snowflake #2 Die, SU! Little Felt Flurries, White small lunch bags

This little basket was made using the little pennant from the Pennant Bigz Die. I came across this idea on Splitcoast, click here to see the basket.
All Supplies by SU!

Ink: Sage Shadow
Paper: Whisper White, Really Rust, Autumn Vine DSP

I used chipboard with the Big Shot using the Top Note die. Below is a view of a few of the inside pages. I used several Dies for this book: Top Note, Scallop Envelope, Scallop Circle #2, Leaves #2 and Serif Essentials...Whew!

Big Shot WOWS!

I had a busy week this past week so that's why no posts were made. But, here are a few things I was working on to share at one of our Group Stamp meetings this past weekend. I got to demo the Big Shot and wanted to try out different materials using the machine. Here's a note pad using foam sheets I purchased at a craft store. I used the SU! Scallop circle die and it cut through just perfectly. Then just ran several sheets of regular copy paper to create a note pad. I think this would make a perfect little hostess gift or party favors.

SU! Supplies used: Big Shot, Scallop Circle Die, Build a Flower Die, Crop-a -dile, Pretties Kit, A Perfect Day Rub-Ons, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon

I finally tried the vinyl with the Big Shot and after I figured out the directions it was so easy. I picked up the star ornament at a craft store and the vinyl had no problem sticking to it. Added a couple more accessories and here you have a fancy looking ornament.

SU! Supplies Used: Big Shot, Join in the Cheer decorative strip Die, Vinyl, Little felt flurries, Grosgrain ribbon

Here's a box using the SU! Envelope die. This is such a simple and quick project. I found the instructions on one of my favorite blogs, Dannie's Designs, click here for step by step instructions, and check out her other creations too!

SU! Supplies used: Big Shot, Envelope Die, Kiwi Kiss Cardstock, Holiday Treasures DSP, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and Sticky Strip

Celine

Wow!! My sister and I went to see Celine Dion in concert last night and it was truely amazing! I saw her a few years ago in Vegas and that show was fabulous, so it was nice to see her again in a different setting. She really knows how to put a show on. I had chills running down my back the whole night. Most of my friends make fun of me for liking her so much, but she is a fabulous singer and entertainer. She's so passionate about what she does. I tried taking pictures with my phone and of course they didn't turn out, and had I known we could bring cameras I would have. So I pulled these pics off her website, exactly what we saw last night. She had 7 outfit changes, whew! Those who are familiar with her know she loves clothes and especially shoes!

I stamped the background with the grassy stamp from Inspired by Nature. The vase or box for the flowers was made from the Pillow Box die, I just cut the ends off and cut the box in half. I had to swap the Ruby Red with Rose Red, guess it's time for me to re-stock my Ruby Red. Thanks for looking.

Just love Halloween! Here's one I just whipped up using Stampin' UP! Ghostly Greetings DS paper and the Batty for You stamp set. So stay tuned for my next Halloween card from this set. :o)

Projects on the Cruise

Hi, here are the projects we did on the cruise:These cards were done on Saturday for World Card Making Day. There were four, but for some reason I can't find one...sorry Jackie!
Cute lunch box. Most all projects were made with SU! Urban Gardens DS paper and SU! Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.
Here's a journal and accordian book we put together. Too cute!

Here we decorated a glass votive by rolling up pieces of SU! Holiday Treasures DS paper. Then used the Big Shot and Basket & Blossoms die to make the Halloween treat baskets out of the SU! Ghostly Greetings DS paper.

If anyone would like the instructions for any of these projects, feel free to email me or leave a comment. Thanks and hope you enjoy looking!
