Kristina's Color Challenge #17

I really like the way this card turned out this week. I hadn't used chipboard in a while so gave it a shot with the flower. I used white craft ink and then clear embossing powder to give it a nice glazed finished look. For the center I used the scalloped punch on the rose red and regal rose paper, scrunched up the paper and snipped the scallops to twist a little so you can see both colors come through.

All products used are Stampin' UP!
Stamps: Time Well Spent, Floral
Ink: Sage Shadow, Craft White
Paper: Sage Shadow, Regal Rose, Rose Red
Other: On Board Accents, Pretties Kit, Gel Pen, Taffeta Ribbon

Swap...maybe or maybe not?

I've been working on my swaps for the SU Convention, I'm so excited it's just a week away and I have so many swaps to finish up. Anyhoo, I was playing around with the new DS Bella Rose paper from SU and came up with this Christmas card. But, I'm wondering if it's a little dr Seuss or Minnie Mousey :o) looking ... I'd love to hear your thoughts. I came across this simple layout on SCS by Stephanie, you can view her card here, I just loved it!

Here's what I used:
Stamps: Season of Joy
Paper: Basic Black, DS Bella Rose
Other: Versa Mark, Sterling Silver Embossing powder, 5/8" C.Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder punch

Adorable Birdy

Today I felt like trying something more simpler looking. I think it came out pretty cute. I saw a card about a week ago, I think out on SCS, I'm sorry I can't remember who's card it was. It had the punch in the corner of the card like this one. So, I thought I'd create something similar from what I could remember. Here's what I used, all products are Stampin' UP!

Stamp Set: Fun & Fast Notes, Warm Words
Ink: Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue & Garden Green Stampin Write markers
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Whisper White
Other: Flower Fusion, Gold Brad, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punch, Scallop Punch, Dimensionals, Ribbon (old olive polytwill, pretty in pink taffeta, very vanilla grosgrain)

Here's a birthday gift certificate I made real quick this evening with some scraps. It's simple and hopefully doesn't look to thrown together. I'm going to miss the Purely Pomegranate color when it retires this month. The In-Colors always seem to be some of my favorites from Stampin' UP! so I'm sure I'll fall in love with the next set coming out in August.

Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose, Ginger Blossom DS

I really like the colors Kristina chose for this weeks challenge. It was a little difficult at first, but I thought I'd try something different and be abstract in my design with a bit of bling too. I'm late with my submission, camera issues UGH! Oh well. Hope you like it.

Finally, Summer is Here

I know it's July 1st, but just this past weekend summer finally arrived in the Seattle area. But, jumping from the 50's to the 90's was a bit much all at once. I don't think there were too many complaints though, the beaches were packed, the boaters were out on the lakes and the BBQ's going. YAY!

The above picture is a couple cards we made in my stamp camp this past weekend. We just had to include one about summer to celebrate and hopefully keep the sun shining a little longer.
